Regrooving can only be done to certain truck tyres. The regrooving process requires precision and patience. It requires:

 

- the use of regrooving tools with electrically heated blades.

- regrooving depth for each individual tyre.

- the blade in the cutting head to be positioned to the specified depth.

After the regrooving of a tyre the tread pattern's groove depth has been increased by cutting into the tread in accordance with the tyre manufacturer’s re-cut tread pattern.
